**A day in the life of some unfortunate apples**
We've spent most of the afternoon at Groenovelds pressing cider... what a process! Below are some pictures of the fun.
The rule was, "bring your jugs, and we'll fill them up!"

First, we scrubbed the apples in COLD water (it was about 45 degrees out...)
Then another group halved the apples... (they were BIG mamas... the apples I mean)
Next, one person dumped the apples into the grinder, while the another ran the crank (this was Peter's job)
Then, they were moved from the grinder to the press...
Pressing...
Next the juice is put through a strainer and finally poured into jugs.
The left over pulp goes to the chickens... (I think they may have stomach-aches tonight, along with the rest of us...)
And, as always, there was lots of good eats... caramel apples, pies, homemade ice cream... apples... apples... apples...
When we took off, this is what was left to cut, crank, press, and pour...
How do ya like them apples?
